How many letters of recommendation do you need for an orthopedic residency?
Three letters of recommendation: One of which should be from the chairman, chief or program director of orthopaedics (not required but preferred) Additional letters accepted but not required. Standardized Letter of Recommendation Form (SLOR) is acceptable but not required.
Can you submit eras without letters recommendation?
You do not have to request separate letters of recommendation. All you have to do is request your letter writer NOT include the specialty in your letter. ERAS can however handle specialty-specific LoRs from the same writer.

I personally was not AOA. In fact, of the six Baylor students my year that applied Ortho, no one was AOA and we all still Matched.
